Jimmy Lam is an artist and designer from Hong Kong. When he was a
boy, he did not like to communicate with others and always drew
pictures on his own, because he thought that this was the best way to
present the true world.

After he grew up, he became interested in street art and was invited
to create many crossover products by design companies. A few years
later, he started to create 3D artworks, such as sculptures. Through his
experience of life, he noticed the changes of natural animals and the
environment and hopes to present it to everyone through his
artworks. In order to invoke some different feelings, he uses different
materials to make his artworks, such as mud for sculptures, fiberglass
and rubber. The main purpose of his artworks is trying to make
people pay more attention to the problems of the natural environment.

Besides creating his artworks, he also works for various advertising
companies as an art director.

“R”是什麼?
是藝術品，是愛護動物，是UFO ART GALLERY為香港年青新晉藝術家JIMMY LAM舉行的首個個人展覽。

R用意為Rice，是JIMMY刻上作品的藝術名字。創作過程就像ICE一樣冰封自己，冷靜思維後透過作品表達所思所想。

由早年迷上HIPHOP文化，到街頭藝術，近年接觸到雕塑藝術，JIMMY利用擅長的GRAFFITI技巧和敏銳的眼光放在不同的動物雕塑品上，驟眼看是色彩斑斕，年輕有活力，細看之下郤感受到這些作品釋放著的力量及正面思維，人類和自然生態和平共存的因果關係。

點解會有Jimmy Lam ( R ) Exhibition的想法?
係因為有一次Jimmy搵動物資料既時候，搵到一些外國打獵動物組織的網站，他們定時定侯就去打獵動物，什至射殺受保護既動物。他們射殺並唔係為左食用，可能........ 一頭頭打獵得來的動物標本，令人感覺尤其不安，Jimmy覺在觀賞價值上真正既動物係活著在原野才有他的價值。最近有愈來愈多反自然的現象，例如係地理環境上，污染上，生態上.....令動物的生活形態改變。例如，北極熊互相殘殺，大象主動攻擊人類，大量鯨魚擱淺，獵豹近親交配，而”R” 利用一些諷刺手法去表達在他的系列上，目的是要令人反思，幻想。

JIMMY銳意帶來創新，大膽，富生命力的作品，這次UFO ART GALLERY作平台，將這位有夢想有才華的藝術家的作品呈現大家眼前。詳細可以到展覽觀看。
